Manchester Central Library
& Town Hall Extension
William Lea Ltd was involved in the early stages of this project and put forward a specification for the screeding to all floors from the Lower Basement up to the Top Floor of the Library.
The Library is a listed building and, architecturally, one of the most prominent buildings in the North West.
William Lea Ltd was contracted by Laing O'Rourke and installed industrial toppings in the plant room areas and Isocrete Heavy-Duty K-Screed to most of the floor areas within the building.
This included screed laid to falls and with a radius to the 'Oculus' on the First Floor.

William Lea Ltd won the contract against some very stiff competition from some of the largest screeding companies in the country.
Our works continued through into the Manchester Town Hall Extension Project that was running adjacent and concurrent with the Manchester Library Refurbishment Project.
Both buildings are historic landmarks in Manchester and quality was of paramount importance throughout. William Lea Ltd provided both the quality and the speed of installation needed to deliver the project to the client as required.
William Lea Ltd are very proud to be associated with these buildings
