The Trafford Centre, Marks and Spencer

Occupying one end of The Trafford Centre, one of the flagship stores, Debenhams, left an empty unit when the company collapsed.

Marks and Spencer decided to take over the unit which occupies approximately 6,000m² on the Ground Floor and 6,000m² on the First Floor.

The existing floor finish and underlying screed had to be removed, down to the structural concrete slab as it had started to break down.

William Lea Ltd were awarded the contract to supply and install the 12,000m² of 80mm thick screed and the installation was completed over a six week period.

Working concurrently on the Ground and First Floors, William Lea Ltd supplied and installed approximately 2,000m² of Retanol Xtreme Screed per week, all finished to SR2 tolerance.
